What is an ntp?

An NTP [Nutritional Therapy Practitioner] is an individual who is certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association to help people support their health holistically with individualized nutrition, and support of foundational health.

In other words, I help you use nutrition and lifestyle recommendations to holistically bring your body back into balance so that you are able to relieve a myriad of symptoms, illnesses, and conditions.

*We do not provide medical diagnosis and can not replace the guidance of a physician. We are here to support you by restoring balance to your body.

As an NTP, I work off of the 7 foundations of nutritional health. This includes:

  • A properly prepared nutrient-dense diet

  • Digestion

  • Blood sugar regulation

  • Fatty acid balance

  • Mineral balance

  • Hydration

  • Sleep, stress, and movement

The foundations above are what I use to guide me when examining a more chronic condition. These chronic conditions can fall under the categories of what we call the ‘consequences’, which include:

  • Endocrine

  • Immune

  • Cardiovascular

  • Detoxification

To break this down a bit further, what an NTP believes is happening, is that when the 7 foundations have been out of balance for a period of time (anywhere from months to decades), the body begins to compensate and illnesses, conditions, and diseases can appear.

This could look like overall hormonal imbalance and menstruation or menopause issues for women. For men, this could be holding onto excess estrogen in the body that contributes to weight gain. It could look like food sensitivities, chronic illnesses, and contractible diseases such as parasites or Lyme disease within the immune system. The cardiovascular system can have issues such as high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and plaque build up. Finally, with the chronic influx of unnatural substances, sugar, alcohol, medications, and more… the body needs to be able to optimally detox. Poor detoxification can contribute to symptoms of acne, digestive distress, weight gain, and more.

Again, nutritional therapy acts to support you through these issues by restoring balance to these systems. It does not diagnose or treat your condition.

I have had many clients come through my (virtual) door with chronic issues such as thyroid conditions, hyperhidrosis, high cholesterol, stress + anxiety, and all of them were able to make shifts in their lives that not only relieved their symptoms and lessened their condition, but it brought them a deeper understanding of the power between food and their bodies.
